we've jumped on the bandwagon

Ok. So, we've finally started a little blog of our own.... not really because everyone else has one, mainly because we are so horrible at keeping in touch with people (including family...) and we thought this might be a good way for family to keep up with us when we fail to return phone calls. And this might also encourage us to be a little better about taking pictures of things. High hopes, we know.

Now that the rationale is given, we'll give a quick update on life. We LOVE married life. It's so great to get to hang out with your best friend all the time. Our apartment is really close to a nature park and now that we both have a bike (thanks for the wedding gift, everyone), we can bike there and Allison runs while Josh rides his bike like a maniac around all the back trails.

It's summer, which means no school and sunshine. Well, for Josh anyway. He's pretty much done coaching/teaching most days by lunchtime, so he has plenty of time to break in his new bike (which he is ecstatic about). So far, his biking escapades have led to one emergency room visit, a bloody elbow, bloody knee, bloody ankle, and probably something with the shoulder that we've forgotten. But he loves it and he's as safe as he can be... so it continues. Summer for Allison this year meant starting full time at work which was a HUGE blessing!! And, unlike Josh, Allison has one more class take so in July she'll be watching Dr. Nelson on DVD an hour or so a day (although Josh has promised to watch and learn with her).

Hm, other than work we've been hanging out with D and P before they head across the big pond! They'll leave Raleigh in about a week and then head to the farm at the end of July. How crazy is that?!?! We are sooo excited for them and cannot wait to join them! We have a great pool at our complex where we've all been hanging out. Our favorite neighbor is the older gentleman who likes to tan and sing country music. Classic!

We've also decided to make the most of our weekends while we have them... so we're planning random 3 day adventures to places. So far, Williamsburg, DC, and Wilmington are on our list... but Allison reallllllly wants to go to NYC (mainly for Museums, yes she is a nerd), so we might make it there if the Mets or Yankees play the Orioles.

Ok, that's enough writing about nothing for one day.
