so. life... it's been pretty chill lately. the best news of the past few weeks is that i'm officially finished with stateside classes!!!! ahh, what a relief! i really do love learning and reading and studying, but i've been doing that for 20 years now (whoa... just added that up and it's crazy) and i think it's time for a break, even if it is just a short one until we get overseas. at least we hope it's a short one...
the company is having financial issues and people are being delayed by 6 months or more because there's just no money to bring on new people and here we are, having not even reopened our application! ugh. so, we're still trying to get in touch with our future boss (we hope) and then the plan is to start up our application no later than october. we already have all of the written stuff done... so other than the medical portion, the waiting game really will be dependent on finances. grr, it's so lame. stupid recession.

in other news, i have been reading fun books lately :) most recently, i finished the time traveler's wife by audrey niffeneger (her name is probably spelled wrong, but it's something like that). so, it had a few sketchy parts in it... but over all it was a great book! kind of far fetched in theme, but also really provocative. morgatron and i went to see the movie tuesday night and i must admit, after the disaster that was my sister's keeper, i was so worried that the movie people were going to mess this book up as well. must to my delight, the movie was fabulous!!! of course, they had to take a ton of stuff out to make it a 2 hour movie rather than a 324235 hour movie... but they did a good job of keeping the overall flow of the book intact. it was so good! morgan loved it as well - we were both glued to the screen! so if you weren't planning on seeing it, you should.
hm, so school started here yesterday. crazy - it's so weird to just be here working and not be one of the students going to class. not that i'm complaining :) it's weird, because i'm registereing new wives who are like, 3 years younger than me... so as i put their information into our database, i'm like, wait... you were born in 1987, how are you here and married? you're still too young.. no wait... you're not. you totally just graduated from college! it's weird.
so this is pretty much a long explanation of nothing. love it.
oh! sopapilla started school this week!!!!!! how in the world is it time for her to start school?!?!?! she's not supposed to be that old yet. it's not even my kid and i'm freaking out! who knows what i'll do when it's josh's and my kids starting school! anyway - mere posted these hilarious pictures of sophie before school started. she is the most outgoing kid i've ever met, but she looked terrified! i have to show you one just becuase it's so stinkin funny:

and, being the younger child, i know what it's like to not have pictures posted of you anywhere (hehe. thanks mom), so here's one of naomi too... she looks so sad without sophie to play with all day! mere said she gets concerned when they get in the car because the sophster's not there and she says, "uh oh, sissy" and doesn't know why they're leaving with out her. she's so cute!

my next task is to find a picture of my mom when she was this age... naomi looks so much like her! no one else seems to see it... but i promise the resemblence is there!!!! no idea when i'll be home again to find a picture, but i will be at some point.
ok. that's enough rambling for one day :) thanks for checking up on us... we'll get better about posting!!!
